BIOGRAPHY
Marylin Pierre, is a practicing attorney and maintains her law practice in Gaithersburg. Maryland.
She is a graduate of Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC and a Howard Trustee
Scholar. Marylin received her Bachelor of Arts in Government and Public Administration in 1987
from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City and was on the Dean's List of
Outstanding Students.
Her bar admissions include the State of Maryland, The District of Columbia. The State of New York
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, The United States District Court for the District of Maryland. The
District of Columbia. the Eastern District of new York, the Southern District of New York and the United
States Supreme Court.
In her current practice, Marylin represents clients in employment discrimination, general counsel,
and family law including divorce and separation agreements, mediation, guardianship proceedings,
bankruptcy and business development. In addition, her firm provides legal support to nonprofit
corporations who need to obtain tax-exempt status.
In 1995 Marylin was honorably discharged from the United States Army Military Police Corps. in St. Louis
Missouri as a First Lieutenant after more than seven years of service. Her legal career dates back to the late
1980's where she served as a legal intern. for the Queen's County Distinct Attorney's Office in Queen's New
York, New York.
From 1989 to 1990, she worked as a Legal Research
Assistant at the Howard University School of Law where she researched and edited
articles for publication in various international law journals for the late
Professor Goler Butcher, who was appointed by former President Jimmy Carter to represent the United States at the United Nations Human Rights
Commission (UHHRC).
Throughout the early 1990's Marylin would hold a number of key positions
including that of a Legal Assistant for the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC.
In 1993 Marylin would open the doors as a practicing attorney for the first time her own law firm where
she would offer legal services in corporate law, estate planning. civil litigation, bankruptcy law, family,
law, personal injury. criminal law and Juvenile law
